Burning Blue Reimagined

This passion project, titled Burning Blue, is a visual exploration of emotional vulnerability, inspired by the song Burning Blue by Mariah The Scientist. The piece reflects the complex interplay between love, heartbreak, and longing, capturing the emotional depth of the song through color, texture, and symbolism.

Drawing from the track’s melancholic tone and poetic lyricism, I used a palette of cold, electric blues paired with cracked heart motifs to symbolize emotional fragmentation and internal conflict. The design is infused with subtle gradients, distressed textures, and layered visual elements to evoke the sensation of burning from within—mirroring the ache of unresolved feelings.

This piece leans into expressive design, where form follows feeling. Every element—from the typography to the abstract overlays—was intentionally chosen to enhance the viewer’s emotional experience. The overall aesthetic is moody, atmospheric, and immersive, aiming to visually echo the haunting vulnerability found in the music.

Burning Blue serves as a testament to the power of design as a storytelling medium—one that can speak to universal emotions without saying a word.
